Wasserman Schultz Shares Measles Vaccination Safety Measures, Calls for Ladapo Removal
Sadly, Florida’s Surgeon General stands in stark contrast to America’s proud legacy of bipartisan public health succes. Ladapo instead politicizes public health and peddles risky ‘freedom of choice’ rhetoric that fuels vaccine hesitancy and downplays the public and personal health necessity for vaccination.
Sunrise, Fla. – U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (FL-25) joined Dr. Mary Jo Trepka, the Chair of the Epidemiology Department at Florida International University, and Latha Krishnaiyer, past President of the Broward County PTA and Florida PTA, and current legislativechair, to discuss safety measures schools and parents should consider in response to Broward County’s measles outbreak. The Congresswoman also called for Florida’s state surgeon general to be replaced due to his latest and consistent hazardous responses to public health concerns.
“Sadly, Florida’s Surgeon General stands in stark contrast to America’s proud legacy of bipartisan public health success,” she said. “Ladapo instead politicizes public health and peddles risky ‘freedom of choice’ rhetoric that fuels vaccine hesitancy and downplays the public and personal health necessity for vaccination.”
