Wasserman Schultz on Medication Abortion Rulings

I will not stay idle or silent while fanatical forces try to legislate or litigate women into second-class citizens

“Like you, I am closely reviewing last night’s competing FDA court decisions, but one thing I am clear on: Mifepristone was safe and effective when the FDA first approved it over two decades ago, and for five million women who used it to end pregnancies since then, it has proven just as safe and effective. I am deeply concerned by potential long term and far-reaching impacts that a decision from an extremist Texas judge may have, not just in that state, but nationwide. But please know that I will never stop fighting for reproductive freedom and health care access, including medication abortion, for all women, as well as passage of the Women’s Health Protection Act. I will not stay idle or silent while fanatical forces try to legislate or litigate women into second-class citizens.”
