Wasserman Schultz on Federal Judge’s Border Wall Ruling
Sunrise, Fla., October 11, 2019 This Administration has overstepped its Constitutional authority by recklessly spending military funds on an ineffective border wall project, and today a federal judge agreed.
Sunrise, Fla. – U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (FL-23) released the following statement in response to today’s judicial ruling against the Trump’s Administration’s border wall project:
“This Administration has overstepped its Constitutional authority by recklessly spending military funds on an ineffective border wall project, and today a federal judge agreed. Our military readiness, national security, military families and those communities living near this proposed boondoggle should not have to suffer because of Trump’s hasty, careless attempt to pander to his nativist base. The Trump Administration should halt this wasteful effort, and return this money to the vital infrastructure projects which the military requested, Congress appropriated, and both deemed essential for our national security and servicemembers’ quality of life.”
