Statement regarding expanded responsibilities for Rep. Wasserman Schultz

“Yesterday I was asked by President Obama to play an expanded role in helping him to move our nation forward and win the future.

“I am honored that through this expanded role I will be able to work with the President to create jobs, improve our economy, strengthen our children’s education, and increase opportunity for all Americans.

“For more than eighteen years, I have dedicated my public life to working on behalf of the people of South Florida.  In door-to-door, neighbor-to-neighbor conversations with my constituents, I know that they want their leaders in Washington to be focused on improving our economy, investing in our children’s future and increasing the opportunity of all Americans.  As such, my additional responsibilities will enable me to give voice to the concerns of my constituents to a much larger audience and have a stronger impact.

“I will continue to live with my family in Weston and I look forward to continuing to listen to, and represent, the people of South Florida.”
