Rep. Wasserman Schultz Announces Launch of Her New On-Demand Cable Channel
Free channel goes behind the scenes with Congresswoman and her staff, provides greater understanding of the work her office does
Pembroke Pines, FL – Today, Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz launched an on-demand cable channel that allows her constituents to “go behind the scenes” with the Congresswoman as she works in Florida and in Washington, DC. This 24/7 news channel can be accessed through the“On Demand” button on your remote control.
This new channel provides the viewer with an intimate format that allows them to stay informed on what Debbie is doing on their behalf– any time of the day and from the comfort of their living room. The channel also highlights the work of the Congresswoman’s staff in both Florida and Washington, showing what they do on behalf of the Congresswoman and how it can help the viewer.
“I’ve always valued openness in Congress,” said Rep. Wasserman Schultz. “And I’ve always wanted to keep you, as my constituents, in the loop. The videos you will find on your television explain my legislative priorities and our constituent service work. They show what I’m doing and how it affects you. I hope that this more personal, behind-the-scenes perspective on me and my office allows individuals to stay connected to their government and in my work on their behalf.”
The service is a joint cooperation between iConstituent and cable providers available to all Members of Congress.
To watch the episodes, tune into “My Government” or “MiCongress” on Comcast Cable, channel 888. Alternatively, if you are using your “On Demand” main menu, simply browse for the “Searchlight” folder and you will see “My Government” then the MiCongress” folders.
