Answer the CALL for Haiti

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

South Florida is no stranger to natural disasters. We have witnessed destroyed property, power outages, lost possessions, serious injury, homelessness, and yes… loss of life.

During those trying times, all of us, as South Floridians and Americans, came together to assist those in need. We had workers from all over the country and the world help with our recovery efforts, and we are now better prepared to handle future threats.

It is our turn to help Haiti, which has suffered a natural disaster like nothing that any of us has witnessed. The pictures and video we have seen are unspeakably horrific, distressing, and heartbreaking.

This catastrophic earthquake is said to have cost at least 50,000 lives. So many more remain at stake in a nation where water, food, power and fuel are in short supply. As we mourn Haiti’s tragic loss, we must answer the desperate call for assistance so others do not perish due to starvation, disease, or lack of medical supplies and care.

South Florida, it is time for our friends and neighbors to give as others previously were there for us.

Please give whatever you can to one of the many reputable aid organizations to support the recovery effort.

Click here to donate to the American Red Cross, here for The American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee and here for singer Wyclef Jean’s Yele Haiti charity.

You can also donate $10 to the Red Cross by texting “Haiti” to 90999 or donate $5 to Yele Haiti by texting “Yele” to 501501. These donations will be charged on your cell phone bill.

Please make a generous donation today and encourage your friends and family to do the same.

Our thoughts and prayers remain with the victims in Haiti and their family members here in the U.S. and around the world.

Again, please answer the call and save lives today!

Debbie
