Statement on the Shooting in Wisconsin

WASHINGTON – U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz released the following statement in response to the shooting at a Sikh temple outside of Milwaukee, Wisconsin:

“This is a terrible tragedy. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of the victims and their families and friends. We are all grateful for the brave law enforcement officers who put their own lives at risk in order to save others. This was a senseless act of violence in a house of worship. We must pause and remember that a founding principle of our great nation was religious tolerance, and we stand with the Oak Creek Sikh community in this time of need, ready to help in any way we can.”
